Aussie And Me Animal Rescue (AAMAR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to communities and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition. Aussie And Me is a small, family run organization with big hearts.
Saving the lives of animals. One, sometimes two or more, at a time.
Director/FounderKaren is THAT crazy dog lady. 8 years ago she had a little time on her hands and started fostering. From there, she turned a little extra time into saving the lives of many animals. In addition, she owns and operates her Marketing, Design & Photography agency.
Our Volunteers And Fosters
Aussie And Me Animal Rescue (AAMAR) is a foster home based rescue. Our foster parents and volunteers are the best we could have ever expect. All the dogs brought into rescue are placed into private foster homes where they are members of the family and learn trust people all over again. There, they become healthy, happy and ready for their forever homes with new families. If you would love to be part of a great group of families that have the same goal at heart, start by filling out the foster/volunteer application by clicking here.
Shelter Animals Count is a collaborative effort by Maddie's Fund and broad representation from the animal welfare community. Despite the hard work of shelters and rescues everywhere, it is estimated millions of pets enter America’s shelters each year, and more than half of them will never leave. While great progress has been made, accurate and comprehensive nation-wide data does not exist. The numbers really do count. By creating standardized reporting and definitions for shelter statistics they hope to increase live outcomes. Aussie And Me is pleased to assist in providing data as every shelter and rescue animal does count.
